Today’s high-definition televisions (HDTVs) are capable of displaying a far greater amount of movie realism than a standard DVD player can deliver. That’s why Blu-ray Disc (BD) technology was developed. Samsung is the leading manufacturer of [tag]Blu-Ray[/tag] Disc Players. The BD-P1400 comes on the heals of the very popular BD-P1200.
The BD-P1400 adds a few important features such as support for 24 frames per second output, which is claimed to reduce judder when viewed on a compatible display. The BD-P1400 also has internal decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD which means that most AV receivers (those equipped with either HDMI or 5.1 analog audio inputs) can be used to amplify the high-resolution soundtracks. The BD-P1400 also retains many of the key features of the BD-P1200, like an HDMI 1.3 port, an Ethernet jack to upgrade the firmware and 5.1 analog audio outputs.
HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) transfers high-definition (1080i/720p/1080p) video and audio from your DVD or BD to your TV, home theater, or other digital AV components. It allows you to connect your Blu-ray player to your home theater system with a single HDMI cable.
